FREE EATING DISORDER RESOURCES
When started this website my intent was to be an ‘Eating Disorder Recovery Coach’, but as time moved on, Human Design (which I ever only did in order to improve my coaching) seemed to take off, seemed to excite me more, and became more and more my focus and I eventually stopped taking on coaching clients.
However, I still feel the need to share pieces of my story and what helped me along the way. I still feel the need to do what I can to help others navigating this tricky, long, winding, difficult and lonely road. So I created the list below…
I also created the list below because when needed help the most, I couldn’t afford it. It is a shame that money is often a barrier to treatment but I also believe that content has the power to change lives. Below are resources I’ve put together if coaching or therapy isn’t an option for you at this time. Or even if it is, these are worth checking out and I found information in all of them which helped me on my path.
The resources below are also great sources of information if you are looking to help someone in need, and wanting to gain a better understanding of what they are experiencing.
PODCASTS: Specific Episodes
Binge Breakers Podcast - This is a great podcast in general for those suffering from Bulimia but this particular Episode with Seth Barner was one of the best episodes I have EVER heard about binge eating/bulimia. His insights/learnings are SPOT ON and I thought it was especially interesting coming from a male perspective.
Melissa Ambrosini Show - Episode with Mel Wells about finding food freedom and recovery from Bulimia/Anorexia.
The Life School Podcast - If you want an intro into the teachings of Geneen Roth this is a great starting point
The Life School Podcast - the FIRST ever Life School Podcast outlines “THE MODEL”. A must listen to understand WHY you binge. Everything we do and have in life stems from a thought. This episode will take you through THE MODEL which is also something I incorporate into my coaching.
The Papaya Podcast - Interview with Kyla Fox on treating Eating Disorders
Fill Your Cup Podcast - Interview with Kyla Fox titled: “When you or your loved one has an Eating Disorder”
Yo Balance Co: Caroline Groth - Caroline is an influencer also worth checking out on IG - recovered from Anorexia) I like her stuff! She keeps it real and has good/honest insight
Superconscious Podcast - My Personal Story of Recovery
YOUTUBE ACCOUNTS:
Mia Findlay - What Mia Did Next YouTube Channel
Change in Real Life - YouTube Channel
INSTAGRAM ACCOUNTS:
Kyla Fox - Founder Kyla Fox Recovery Center - Shares insightful tips and info daily
Lindsey Hall Writes - I love her posts. They are so real and accurate across MANY eating disorders from BED to Anorexia
RECOVERY PODCATS:
Brain Over Binge - I’ve listened to quite a few episodes of this show, but never read the book it’s based off. I don’t agree with this ENTIRE theory, BUT there are valuable insights into the mechanics of the brain and viewing binging as a pure neuron pathway reaction. The basis of this theory is that all we need to do is fight the urge.
MY TOP EATING DISORDER RECOVERY BOOKS:
8 Keys to Recovery from an Eating Disorder - THIS IS THE BIBLE of recovery (at least for me it was). In my coaching, I go through many of the exercises, theories and practices outlined in this book. Do the work in this book, and you will gain a deep understanding about your Eating Disorder; why you have it, how it feeds you and steps to recover.
Eating in the light of the Moon - Dr. Anita Johnston
Anything by Geneen Roth
Body Mindful Yoga - For anyone interested in yoga (and especially any Yoga Teachers out there) this book is geared at how Yoga can help those struggling with body issues and the type of language that is safe to use vs. what may be triggering. Yoga was a big component of my healing and I encourage anyone to try it (and be patient …I hated it at first! Finding the right teacher can make all the difference).

Hip Sobriety: “17 Things I did to (FINALLY) Overcome Bulimia). This is a 3 part series by Holly Whitaker. A bit controversial but I read this MANY times and respect the steps she outlines.
MOTIVATION:
This is a link to a Pinterest Board I created full of inspiring quotes. I would often cling on to quotes for dear life! My phone is always full of them and sometimes reading just one small sentence can completely turn around our day. My hope is that if you ever need a little pick-me-up - that this page serves you.
